Angel's Prayer

Angel's Prayer

With the Blessed Sacrament suspended in the air, the angel at Fatima prostrated himself, and recited this prayer:

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most preious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I beg the conversion of poor sinners.

Prayer to St. Benedict

Prayer to St. Benedict

Dear St. Benedict, you are a "blessing" indeed, as your name indicates. Practicing what you preached, you founded the monastic tradition of the West by joining prayer to labor for God - both liturgical and private prayer. Help all religious to follow their Rule and be true to their vocation. May they labor and pray for the world to the greater glory of God.

God our Father, You made St. Benedict and outstanding guide to teach men how to live in Your service. Grant that by preferring Your love to everything else, we may walk in the way of Your commandments.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me show love.
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doupt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

Prayer To Our Lady of Perpetual Help

Prayer To Our Lady of Perpetual Help

O MOTHER OF PERPETUAL HELP, grant that I may ever invoke Thy most powerful name, which is the safequard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let Thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on Thee, for, in all my temptations, in all my needs, I shall never cease to call on Thee, ever repeating Thy sacred name, Mary, Mary. O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion fill my soul when I utter Thy sacred name, or even only think of Thee. I thank God for having given Thee, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering Thy name; let my love for Thee prompt me ever to hail Thee; MOTHER OF PERPETUAL HELP.

Novena Prayer to St. Joseph

Novena Prayer to St. Joseph

Oh St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interest and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls - Pray for me.

A Little History
This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1505 it was sent from the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whoever shall read this prayer or hear it or keep it about themselves, shall never die a sudden death, or be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them; neither shall they fall into the hands of the enemy, or shall be burned in any fire or shall be overpowered in battle.

Say for nine mornings for anything you may desire. It has never been known to fail, so be sure you really want what you ask.

Prayer To St. Philomena

Illustrious virgin and martyr, St. Philomena, behold me kneeling in spirit before the throne on which it has pleased the Most Holy Trinity to place thee. Full of confidence in thy protection, I beseech thee to intercede for me with God. From the height of thy heavenly country, deign to cast a look upon thy humble servant. Spouse of Jesus Christ, console me in my troubles, strengthen me in temptations, protect me in the dangers which surround me on every side; obtain all the gracs necessary for me, especially (here mention your particular intention), and above all, assist me at my death. Amen.

Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

(St. Louis de Monfort's Consecration)

"I. N., a faithless sinner - renew and ratify today in thy hands, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.

"In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen."

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wiles and wickedness of the devil. OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR NOVENA PRAYERS

OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR NOVENA PRAYERS

Feast day: January 8th
Opening Prayer to Our Lady

Oh, Immaculate Heart! Help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people of today, and whose immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths towards the future!

From famine and war, deliver us.
From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.
From sins against the life of man from its very beginning, deliver us.
From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us.
From every kind of injustice in the life of society, both national and international, deliver us.
From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us.
From attempts to stifle in human hearts the very truth of God, deliver us.
From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us, deliver us.

Accept, O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with the sufferings of whole societies.

Let there be revealed, once more, in the history of the world your infinite power of merciful Love. May it put a stop to evil. May it transform consciences. May your Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of Hope.Taken from

FIRST DAY

When we wish to obtain some special favor through the intercession of Our Blessed Lady, the first disposition to bring to prayer is the humble recognition of our unworthiness, for it is the prayer of the contrite and humble heart that rises to the very throne of God.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, you are after Jesus our only hope. O Most Holy Virgin, whose merits have raised you high above angel choirs to the very throne of the Eternal and whose foot crushed the head of the infernal serpent, you are strong against the enemies of our salvation. O Mother of God, you are our Mediatrix most kind and loving. Hasten, then, to our help, and as you did once save your beloved City from ravaging flames and our Country from an alien foe, do now have pity on our misery, and obtain for us the graces we beg of you. Deliver us from the wiles of Satan, assist us in the many trials which beset our path in this valley of tears, and be to us truly Our Lady of Prompt Succor now and especially at the hour of our death. Amen.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.)
The Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory be to the Father may be added, with the Litany of Our Lady of Prompt Succor and the prayer "O Mary, Mother of God".

SECOND DAY

Filial resignation to God's Holy Will is the second disposition required for the obtaining of special graces. This disposition is especially necessary when we ask for temporal favors, for we cannot be certain whether they are conducive to our salvation or not.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, O Virgin most pure and Mother of the Word Incarnate, you are the dispenser of all graces and the refuge of poor sinners. With lively faith and unbounded confidence we have recourse to your maternal love and we beg you to obtain from your Divine Son the favors we now implore (here name the special favor desired). With filial trust we place our hearts under your motherly care beseeching you to obtain for us the all-important grace of perfect conformity to God's Will, and, O Mary, show yourself to be OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR, especially at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

THIRD DAY

A profound respect for the exalted dignity and sublime prerogatives of Mary is an excellent means to draw down upon us Heaven's choicest blessings.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, O Mary Immaculate, you are the model of all virtues, the path by which we go to Jesus, the mysterious channel through which divine favors are imparted to us. You have such power over the Heart of Jesus, hasten to our assistance and obtain our earnest request (here name the favor desired). In you, O Mary, we put our trust, let it not be said that our hopes have been frustrated. O Mother most chaste, be our strength against temptation, our help in danger, our consolation in sorrow, but especially be OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

FOURTH DAY

A filial eagerness in striving to fathom the treasures of holiness contained in the heart of Mary, the most loving and lovable of mothers, is another means of obtaining Our Lady's special protection.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, living temple of the Holy Spirit and Queen of Heaven and earth, behold us prostrate at your feet to offer you the filial homage of our hearts, to thank you for the innumerable favors you have obtained for us, and to implore, through your all-powerful intercession, the graces we need, especially (here specify the favor desired). O Mary, be truly to us "Mary," that is, our shield against the darts of temptation, our solace in the midst of trials and afflictions, our firm hope, sweet consolation, and PROMPT SUCCOR at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

FIFTH DAY

One of the surest means to acquire a special right to the protection of Mary is to keep ourselves in the state of grace and endeavor to please her by imitating her virtues.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Virgin most powerful and Mirror of Justice, who offered yourself totally to God for the perfect accomplishment of His Holy Will, make us generous in sacrifice. We have recourse to you to obtain the graces we need, especially (here name the favor desired). O Mary, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, heavenly protectress of souls devoted to your Divine Son, deign to bless us each day of our mortal pilgrimage, cast upon us your eyes of mercy, and after our exile, show unto us Jesus, your Son and our Brother. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

SIXTH DAY

A tender love for Mary is another efficacious means of obtaining her favors. Since love can be requited only by love, what should not be our sentiments of filial affection for so generous and loving a Mother?

PRAYER

O Mary, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, bright Star of the Sea shining upon life's stormy ocean, we implore your speedy help especially to obtain (here specify the desired favor). Shining Star of our tempest-tossed souls, lovingly guide us among temptation's heaving billows and treacherous shoals, and lead us safely into eternity's peaceful harbor. O sweetest of mothers, we seek your PROMPT SUCCOR now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

SEVENTH DAY

Mary's love for us is tender and generous. Our love for her should be characterized by deep gratitude, filial confidence, and ardent zeal. We should endeavor, by good example and the spirit of sacrifice, to propagate devotion to her under her sweet title of PROMPT SUCCOR.

PRAYER

O Mary, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, whose protection is so powerful and whose help is so prompt and efficacious, we come to lay at your feet all our cares and sorrows, to place into your hands all our hopes, to entrust to you all our interest both spiritual and temporal. Deign, O Most Holy Virgin, to assist us and obtain the graces we now ask, especially (here mention the favor desired). O Mother of PROMPT SUCCOR, close not your ears to our earnest supplications; rather hasten to our help now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

EIGHTH DAY

Confidence is an excellent and necessary means for obtaining Mary's protection. Our Lady of Prompt Succor will bestow favors upon us in proportion to our filial trust in her all-powerful intercession.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, sanctuary of every virtue, who was chosen among all women to be the Mother of our Redeemer, be our advocate and protectress. To you do we raise our hearts and hands imploring your powerful intercession to obtain the favors we ask, especially (here mention the favor desired). Assist us by your mediation, O Mary, that your Divine Son may shower His blessings upon us now and at the moment of our death. Amen. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

NINTH DAY

Mary became our Mother on Calvary's crest. We are the children of her tears and sorrows. On this last day of our novena, let us take the resolution ever to foster a true and tender devotion to our Immaculate Mother of Prompt Succor, to cast all our cares and anxieties into her maternal heart. Our confidence will not remain unrewarded.

PRAYER

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Queen of the Universe and Sovereign full of kindness, you are the advocate of sinners, a haven of safety to the shipwrecked, the health of the sick and infirm, the consolation of the afflicted, the refuge and salvation of all on earth. O Mary, grant us, we beseech you, the help of your prayers to obtain the graces we implore, and in particular (here name the favor desired). Let your maternal heart be touched by our misery; hasten to our assistance and be to us, now and at the hour of our death, OUR LADY OF PROMPT SUCCOR. Amen.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.) Our Father, etc., as on first day.

Some Extracts from the book, "JESUS APPEALS TO THE WORLD." Re:-Words spoken by Jesus to Sister M. Consolata, relative to the aspiration-"JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS."
Think, One act of love can determine eternal happiness for a soul. Therefore, be careful never to omit one 'JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS:' Lose no time-every act of love is a soul."
Words of Our Lady: "Only in paradise will you realize the value and the fruitfulness of saving souls. The act of love is especially meritorious as one of reparation."
"One JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS atones for thousands of blasphemies."
"Put together all victuous acts of today that you can perform, and put them beside a day uninterrupted in acts of love - and I will take the love-filled day in performence to anything else you have done of offered Me. "JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS:-Herewith you offer Me everything."
"Remain true to this act of love, and renew it from hour to hour, and I will grant you everything, Consolata."
"Consolata, I will lead you to all heights of love and suffering, but repeat always: JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS: Nothing more."
"I prefer one act of love to all other prayers. "JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS" includes all - the souls in purgatorym as those in the militant Church, the guilty and the innocent, the dying, the godless, etc. Fear not: On the day you die, you will have reached the summit and finished your last act of love that Jesus wished from you, when He called you as a Victim of Love."
Jesus wills to save the world, but the world must return to Jesus. There is only one way-
LOVE
August 17, 1934: "After you have prayed your last 'JESUS, MARY, I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS': I will accept it and through your writings I will make it accessible to millions of souls. Even sinners will take it up, and will follow you in the simple way of trust and love, and will love Me in this way."

SALUTION OF THE WOUND IN THE SHOULDER OF JESUS

SALUTION OF THE WOUND IN THE SHOULDER OF JESUS
http://lilmissrit15.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!9B0309AFED157275!1021.entry
It is related in the annals of Clairvaux that St. Bernard once asked our Lord which was His greatest recorded suffering and that our Lord condescended to answer: "I had on My Shoulder, while I bore My Cross on the way of sorrow, a most grievous wound which was more painful to Me than the others and which is not recorded by men because they knew not of it. Honour the Wound with devotion and I will grant thee whatsoever thou dost ask through its virtue and merits; and in regard to all those who shall venerate this Wound, I will remit to them all their venial sins and will no more remember their mortal sins."
3 Paters (Our Fathers) 3 Aves (Hail Marys) 3 Glorias (Glory Bes)

SALUTION OF THE WOUND IN THE SHOULDER OF JESUS
O most loving Jesus, meekest Lamb of God, I, a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Thy Shoulder on which Thou didst bear Thy heavy Cross, which so tore Thy flesh and laid bare Thy bones as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any wound of Thy most Blessed Body. I adore Thee, O Jesus most sorrowful. I praise Thee, I bless The and glorify Thee and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and most painful Wound. Beseeching Thee by that exceeding pain, and the crushing burden of Thy heavy Cross, to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial sins, and to lead me on towards Heaven along the way of the Cross.

1. The Apostles’ Creed – Say once
I BELIEVE in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead: He ascended into Heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead; I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

2. Our Father – Say one
OUR FATHER, who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil. Amen.

3. Hail Mary – Say three
HAIL MARY, full of grace; the Lord in with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

4. Glory Be To the Father – Say one
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven especially those who are most in need of Thy mercy.

5. Here announce the First Mystery (see mysteries below) and say one, Our Father. Meditate on the mysteries.

6. Say ten, Hail Mary’s.

7. Say one, Glory Be to the Father. Then announce the Second Mystery.
Repeat the steps 5 through 7, but after the next three, Glory Be to the Father, announce the

Third, Forth, and Fifth Mysteries. After you have finished the Fifth Mystery-Glory Be to the Father-you then say:

Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness, and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our signs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus; *O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let Us Pray
O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries in the most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise: through the same Christ our Lord. The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell; it will destroy vice, decrease sin and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to consideration of its sacred Mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice; he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

The 15 Magnificent Prayers of Saint Bridget of Sweden

The 15 Magnificent Prayers of Saint Bridget of Sweden

Based on the Passion and Death of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
To be recited every day of the year as a means of honoring (during one year’s recital) each of the wounds received by Our Blessed Lord during His bitter Passion.
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For he that will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it.” –Matt. 16:24-25

FIRST PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus Christ! Eternal Sweetness to those who love Thee, Joy surpassing all joy and all desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners, Thou Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire that to be amongst men, even assuming human nature during the course of time for love of men, recall all the sufferings which Thou hast endured from the first moment of They conception, and especially during They Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from all eternity in the divine plan.
Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples, having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time Thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst foretell them Thy coming Passion.
Remember the sadness and bitterness Thou didst experience in Thy soul as Thou prayed: “My soul is sorrowful even unto death.”
Remember all the fear, anguish, and pain Thou didst suffer in Thy delicate body before the Crucifixion when, after having prayed three separate times, bathed in a sweat of blood, Thou wast betrayed by Judas, Thy disciple, arrested by the people of a nation Thou hadst chosen and elevated, accused by false witnesses, unjustly judged by three judges: all this in the flower of Thy young and during the solemn Paschal season.
Remember that Thou wast despoiled of Thy garments and clothed with the garments of derision; that Thy face and eyes were veiled; that Thou was buffeted, crowned with thorns, a scepter placed in Thy hands; that Thou wast fastened to a column and crushed with blows and overwhelmed with affronts and outrages.
In memory of all these pains and sufferings which Thou didst endure before Thy Passion on the cross, grant that before I die, I may make with true contrition a sincere and entire confession, make worthy satisfaction, and be granted the remission of all my sins. Amen.

SECOND PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! True Liberty of Angels, Paradise of Delights, remember the horror and sadness Thou didst endure when Thy enemies, like furious lions, surrounded Thee, and by thousands of blows, insults, lacerations, and other unheard-of cruelties, tormented Thee at will.
Through these torments and insulting words, I beg Thee, O my Savoir, to deliver me from all enemies, both visible and invisible; and under Thy protection may I attain the perfection of eternal salvation. Amen.

THIRD PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Creator of Heaven and Earth, Whom nothing can encompass or limit, Thou Who dost enfold and hold all under Thy loving power, remember the very bitter pain which Thou didst suffer when the Jews nailed Thy sacred hands and feet to the cross by blow after blow with big blunt nails, and not finding Thee in a pitiable enough state to satisfy their rage, enlarged Thy wounds, and added pain to pain, and with indescribable cruelty stretched Thy body on the cross and dislocated Thy bones by pulling them on all sides. I beg of Thee, O Jesus, by the memory of this most holy and most loving suffering of the cross, grant me the grace to fear Thee and to love Thee. Amen.

FORTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Heavenly Physician, raised aloft on the cross in order that through Thy wounds ours might be healed, remember the bruises Thou didst suffer and the weakness of all Thy members, which were distended to such a decree that never was there pain like unto Thine. From the crown of Thy head to the soles of Thy feet, there was not one spot of Thy body which was not in torment; and yet, forgetting all Thy sufferings, Thou didst not cease to pray to Thy Heavenly Father for Thy enemies, saying: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
Through this great mercy, and in memory of this suffering, grant that the remembrance of Thy most bitter Passion may effect in us a perfect contrition and the remission of all our sins. Amen.

FIFTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Mirror of Eternal Splendor, remember the sadness which Thou experienced when, contemplating in the light of Thy Divinity the predestination of those who would be saved by the merits of Thy sacred Passion, Thou didst see at the same time the great multitude of reprobates who would be damned for their sins; and Thou didst complain bitterly of those hopeless, lost, and unfortunate sinners.
Through this abyss of compassion and pity, and especially through the goodness which Thou displayed to the good thief when Thou saidst to him, “This day thou shalt be with Me in Paradise,” I beg of Thee, O sweet Jesus, that at the hour of my death, Thou wilt show me mercy. Amen.

SIXTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! King most loving and most desirable, remember the grief which Thou didst suffer when, naked and like a common criminal, Thou was raised and fastened to the cross; when all Thy relatives and friend abandoned Thee, except Thy beloved Mother, who remained close to Thee during Thy agony, and whom Thou didst entrust to Thy faithful disciple when Thou saidst to Mary, “Women, behold thy son,” and to St. John, “Behold Thy Mother.”
I beg of Thee, O my Savior, by the sword of sorrow which pierced the soul of Thy holy Mother, to compassion on me in all my afflictions and tribulations, both corporal and spiritual, and to assist me in all my trials, and especially at the hour of my death. Amen.

SEVENTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Inexhaustible Fountain of Compassion, Who by a profound gesture of love said from the cross, “I thirst,” and Who suffered from the thirst for the salvation of the human race, I beg of Thee, O my Savior, to inflame in our hearts the desire to tend toward perfection in all our acts, and to extinguish in us the concupiscence of the flesh and the ardor of worldly desires. Amen.

EIGHTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Sweetness of Hearts, Delight of the Spirit, by the bitterness of the gall and vinegar which Thou didst taste on the cross for love of us, grant us the grace to receive worthily Thy precious Body and Blood during our life and at the hour of our death, that It may serve as a remedy of consolation for our souls. Amen.

NINTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Royal Virtue, Joy of Mind, recall the pain Thou didst endure when, plunged in the ocean of bitterness at the approach of death, insulted, outraged by the Jews, Thou didst cry out in a loud voice that Thou was abandoned by Thy Father, saying: “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”
Through this anguish, I beg of Thee, O my Savior, not to abandon me in the terrors and pains of my death. Amen.

TENTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Who art the beginning and end of all things, life and virtue, remember that for our sakes Thou wast plunged into an abyss of suffering, from the soles of Thy feet to the crown of Thy head. In consideration of the enormity of Thy wounds, teach me to keep, through pure love, Thy commandments, which are a wide and easy path for those who love Thee. Amen.

ELEVENTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Deep Abyss of Mercy, I beg of Thee, in memory of Thy wounds, which penetrated to the very marrow of Thy bones and to the depth of Thy being, to draw me, a miserable sinner overwhelmed by my offenses, away from sin and to hide me from Thy face, justly irritated against me; hide me in Thy wounds until Thy anger and indignation shall have passed away. Amen.

TWELFTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Mirror of Truth, Symbol of unity, Link of Charity, remember the multitude of wounds with which Thou wast afflicted from head to foot, torn and reddened by the spilling of Thy adorable blood. O great and universal pain which Thou didst suffer in thy virginal flesh for love of us! Sweetest Jesus! What is there Thou couldst have done for us which Thou hast not done?
May the fruit of Thy sufferings be renewed in my soul by the faithful remembrance of Thy Passion, and may Thy love increase in my heart each day until I see Thee in eternity, Thou Who art the treasure of every real good and every joy, which I beg Thee to grant me, O sweetest Jesus, in Heaven. Amen.

THIRTEENTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Strong Lion, immortal and invincible King, remember the pain Thou didst endure when all Thy strength, both moral and physical, was entirely exhausted; Thou didst bow Thy head, saying: “It is consummated.”
Through this anguish and grief, I beg of Thee, O Lord, have mercy on me at the hour of my death, when my mind will be greatly troubled and my soul will be in anguish. Amen.

FOURTEENTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! Only Son of the Father, Splendor and figure of His Substance, remember the simple and humble recommendation Thou didst make of Thy soul to Thy eternal Father, saying, “Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit,” and when, Thy body all torn and Thy heart broken and the bowels of Thy mercy open to redeem us, Thou didst expire. By this precious death, I beg of Thee, O King of Saints, to comfort me and give me help to resist the devil, the flesh, and the world, so that, being dead to the world, I may live for Thee alone. I beg of Thee at the hour of my death to receive me, a pilgrim and an exile, returning to Thee. Amen.

FIFTEENTH PRAYER
Our Father-Hail Mary
O Jesus! True and Fruitful Vine! Remember the abundant outpouring of blood which Thou didst so generously shed, pressed down and running over as the grape crushed in the wine-press.
From Thy side, pierced with a lance by a soldier, blood and water issued forth until there was not left in Thy body a single drop; and finally, like a bundle of myrrh lifted to the very top of the cross, Thy delicate flesh was destroyed, the very substance of Thy body withered, and the marrow of Thy bones dried up.
Through this bitter Passion, and through the outpouring of Thy Precious Blood, I beg of Thee, O sweet Jesus, to pierce my heart, so that my tears of penitence and love will be my bread night and day. May I be converted entirely to Thee; may my heart be Thy perpetual resting-place; may my conversation be pleasing to Thee; and may the end of my life be so praiseworthy that I may merit Heaven, and there with Thy saints praise Thee forever. Amen.

A little information about these prayers:
St. Bridget relates the following: As she had been desirous for a long time to know the number of blows Our Lord received during His Passion, Jesus revealed to her: “I received 5,480 blows upon My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, say fifteen Our Father prayers and fifteen Hail Mary prayers with the following prayers [which He then taught her] for a whole year. When the year is finished, you will have honored each one of My wounds.” To this Our Lord added the promise of signal graces to be received by those who practice this devotion.
St. Gertrude the Great, St. Mechtilde and St. Catherine of Siena have all revealed that those who meditate on Our Lord’s Passion are very dear to Him. St. Francis de Sales says that the Passion should be the ordinary subject of every Christian. Jesus revealed to St. Albert the Great that He was more pleased if we meditate on His Passion and Death for 15 minutes than if we were to fast on bread and water every Friday for an entire year. And St. Augustine writes that “there is no more profitable occupation for the soul than to meditate daily on the Passion of Our Lord.”
These beautiful prayers, given to us by St. Bridget of Sweden, are an easy and efficacious means of meditating daily on Our Lord’s Passion and Death. May the Faithful embrace this devotion and promote it widely.

Novena to Our Lady of Good Remedy

Our Lady of Good Remedy

Feast day: October 8

800 years ago Christians were being captured by the Moslems and sold into slavery by the thousands, and nobody knew what to do about it. Then, in the year 1198, a man had an idea. St. John of Matha founded the Trinitarians to go to the slave markets, buy the Christian slaves and set them free.
To carry out this plan, the Trinitarians needed large amounts of money. So, they placed their fundraising efforts under the patronage of Mary. They were so successful that, over the centuries, the Trinitarians were able to free thousands and thousands of people and to return them safely home.
In gratitude for her miraculous assistance, St. John of Matha honored Mary with the title of “Our Lady of Good Remedy.” Devotion to Mary under this ancient title is widely known in Europe and Latin America, and the Church celebrates her feast day on October 8. Our Lady of Good Remedy is often depicted as the Virgin Mary handing a bag of money to St. John of Matha.
When in need-for whatever reason, but especially where you have had difficulty obtaining help-invoke the aid of Our Lady of Good Remedy, and you will surely experience the power of her intercession.

Novena Prayer to Our Lady of Good Remedy

On my part, O loving Mother, I pledge myself to a more intensely Christian lifestyle, to a more careful observance of the laws of God, to be more conscientious in fulfilling the obligations of my state in life, and to strive to be a source of healing in this broken world of ours.
Dear Lady of Good Remedy, be ever present to me, and through thy intercession, may I enjoy health of body and peace of mind, and grow stronger in the faith and in the love of thy Son, Jesus.

R. That we may deepen our dedication to thy Son, and make the world alive with His Spirit.

PRAYER TO OBTAIN FAVORS - St. Andrew Prayer

PRAYER TO OBTAIN FAVORS

HAIL and blessed be the hour and moment in which the son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.

(It is piously believed that whoever recites this above prayer fifteen times a day from the feast of St. Andrew (30th Nov.) until Christmas will obtain what is asked.)

The Ceremony of the Blessing
(Epiphany Chalk is used to write the inscription over all the doors of one’s house. Soft classroom chalk of any color is best for writing on varnished or painted surfaces. A priest should bless the chalk on Epiphany Day, before the celebration of the main Mass of the day, using the following Blessing, which is taken from the Roman Ritual.)
V. Our help is in the Name of the Lord.
R. Who made heaven and earth.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.
Let Us Pray:
O Lord God, bless + this chalk which Thou hast created, that it may be helpful to mankind; and grant that through the invocation of Thy most holy Name all those who use this chalk or with it write over the doors of their houses the names of Thy Saints, Gasper, Melchior, and Balthazar, may by their merits and intercession receive health of body and protection of soul. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen. (Priest now sprinkles chalk with Holy Water.)
(Later that day – or any day within the Octave of the Feast of the Epiphany – at home, the ceremony is completed by a priest, or the father, or senior member, of the family. The following prayer is said once and at the main entrance of the house. All the family as he or she goes from door to door – everyone keeping a respectful silence, or better yet, reciting the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.)
Let Us Pray:
Hear us, O Holy Lord, Father Almighty, Eternal God, and send Thy Holy Angel from Heaven to watch over, cherish, protect, be with, and defend all who live in my house. I call upon Your Saints, Gasper, Melchior, and Balthazar, to protect my family and my home from every harm and danger, and I place the marks of their holy names over the doors of my home to remain there as a constant reminder to us and to all who enter here that my house is truly a house of the Lord.
O God, make the door of my house wide enough to receive all who need human love and companionship; narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride, and strife. Make its threshold smooth enough to be no stumbling clock to children, nor to straying feet, but rugged and strong enough to turn back the temper’s power.
O God, make the door of my house the gateway to Thy eternal Kingdom. I ask these things in the Name of Jesus Christ Thy Son. Amen.

Prayer given to St. Gertrude the Great by Our Lord

Prayer given to St. Gertrude the Great by Our Lord

Our Lord told St. Gertrude the GREAT that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was extended to include living sinners as well:

"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen."
